Community Guidelines

Gritwood City is built from Detroit and welcomes eligible creators from other communities. Bring your work, your experience, and respect for the people making stories with you.

1. Be honest about who you are and what you offer

Use accurate credits, affiliations, project details, and compensation descriptions. Stage names are welcome; impersonation is not. Do not invent roles, audiences, budgets, production commitments, or guaranteed outcomes to attract applicants or money. A company name on a profile is display information that we do not verify, and stating one does not represent that Gritwood City has checked it.

2. Treat people professionally

No threats, harassment, stalking, hate, unlawful discrimination, coercion, or retaliation for declining an opportunity or reporting a concern. Critique work constructively. A rejected application is not an invitation to pressure or repeatedly contact someone.

3. Make casting clear and fair

State material requirements and whether compensation is paid, unpaid, deferred, or conditional. Explain expected dates, location, travel, expenses, credits, and relevant performance requirements. Identify significant changes promptly. Role requirements must have a legitimate creative purpose and comply with applicable law.

Do not charge audition fees, promise roles for payment, request gift cards or cryptocurrency as a condition of casting, or use casting as a cover for unrelated sales or recruitment.

4. Protect boundaries and audition safety

No requests for sexual favors or private sexual material. No nude or sexually explicit audition submissions on the platform. Do not pressure participants to undress or perform intimate acts during an audition. Clearly disclose relevant intimate-content requirements for a production before participation, and arrange lawful consent and professional safeguards separately.

Do not change an audition to an undisclosed private location without the participant's agreement. Respect a person's decision to bring a support person, request clarification, or leave an unsafe situation. Do not publish private home addresses or meeting links in public listings.

5. Respect creative ownership and consent

Share work only when you have the necessary rights. Do not repost private auditions, scripts, messages, or production materials without permission. A submission is permission to evaluate for the stated opportunity, not permission to distribute, commercially exploit, clone a performance, or train an AI system on it.

Do not present a synthetic face, voice, credential, or performance as a real person's without appropriate authorization and disclosure.

6. Respect privacy

No doxxing, stalking, bulk scraping of profiles, publication of private contact details, or sharing another person's schedule without permission. Use contact information for the professional purpose for which it was shared. Do not add people to unrelated mailing lists. Treat calendar files and remote meeting links as information that can expose a person's plans.

7. Keep the beta adult-only

Members must be at least 18. Do not create accounts, profiles, submissions, or casting applications for minors. Any future youth program would need a separately designed process before use.

8. Keep projects and communication useful

Post relevant opportunities, keep availability and listings reasonably current, honor commitments, and communicate cancellations or delays. Do not spam, flood messages, post malware, manipulate engagement, evade restrictions, or misuse reporting tools.

9. Report concerns and request review

Use available reporting controls, or email safety@gritwoodcity.com for a safety concern and support@gritwoodcity.com for anything else. Include links, dates, and a concise description. Preserve relevant evidence without circulating it publicly. Reporting does not guarantee a particular outcome, but retaliation for a good-faith report is prohibited.

Moderation may include clarification, a warning, content removal, restricted access, suspension, or termination depending on severity and context. Severe safety issues can result in immediate action. You may request review through the same contact address. For urgent danger, contact emergency services; platform reports are not an emergency service.
